I grew up on a farm in southwest Minnesota, where I learned pretty early that hard work, relationships and doing what you say you’re going to do matter. Those lessons have followed me throughout my career and are a big part of how we operate The Lyle Group today.
Before entering the insurance business, my career gave me the opportunity to work internationally and do business in more than 40 countries. My family and I put down roots in the St. Cloud area, where we’ve lived since 2000.
Today, I’m proud to lead The Lyle Group, an Allstate agency serving customers throughout Minnesota from our St. Cloud and Monticello offices. We’ve built our agency around a pretty simple idea: insurance should be understandable, the advice should be straightforward, and customers should feel like they have someone they can actually call when they need help.
I’m also fortunate to work alongside a great team, including my daughter Brooklyn. Building a business that creates opportunities for other people and watching our team develop their own careers is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Outside the Office
If I’m not working, there’s a pretty good chance I’m doing something outdoors.
I’m an avid upland bird hunter and especially enjoy chasing pheasants across Minnesota, Iowa and the Dakotas with my English Springer Spaniels. I’m also a lifelong fisherman, whether that’s chasing walleyes in Minnesota or heading somewhere new for a fishing trip.
More recently, I’ve taken on a completely different challenge: learning to fly. I’m currently working toward my private pilot’s license and spend as much time as I can flying out of St. Cloud. It’s been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve taken on in years.
I also enjoy racquetball, pickleball and golf, although enthusiasm occasionally exceeds ability.
My wife, Sarah, and I have two daughters, Reagen and Brooklyn, and St. Cloud has been home to our family for more than two decades.
Giving Back
Being involved in the community is important to me. I’m active with Pheasants Forever and support conservation efforts that protect wildlife habitat and Minnesota’s outdoor traditions. The Lyle Group also looks for opportunities to support local schools, organizations, and events throughout the communities we serve.
For me, running a local insurance agency isn’t just about selling policies. It’s about building relationships, being involved in the community and creating a business that people trust.
If you see me around town, at a Pheasants Forever event, on the racquetball court, at the airport or somewhere in a field behind a couple of bird dogs, make sure you say hello.
